What’s New in ClearPath Forward ePortal 7.1?

With the help of ClearPath Forward™ ePortal, you’ll have the modernization engine you need to extend your applications to new channels, users, and environments – all without making any changes to the applications themselves.

This way, you’ll be able to increase business agility by getting new capabilities to new audiences faster, shortening the time required to develop and deliver these capabilities, and realizing a greater return on your existing application investments.

And with ClearPath Forward ePortal 7.1, we’re enhancing the business value ePortal delivers by integrating it with contemporary development environments and making the solution easier to maintain, update, and recover.

Key enhancements built into ePortal 7.1 include:

  • Support for Visual Studio 2015 Update 3: By integrating ePortal with the latest Microsoft® Visual Studio® release, your developers can leverage new improvements in Visual Studio to generate responsive web apps and web services, as well as hybrid mobile Microsoft Universal Apps, Apple® iOS apps, and Android™ apps that target a full range of desktop and mobile devices.
  • Support for Apache Cordova 6.3.0: With support for Apache® Cordova™ 6.3.0 – the latest version of Apache’s mobile development platform – your team can build hybrid mobile apps using the latest web development technologies.
  • ClearPath Forward ePortal Business gen 4.1: ClearPath Forward ePortal Business is now available on a new hardware platform that shares a common software base with ePortal Enterprise – and includes a new platform management console you can use to manage software maintenance, operations, and diagnostics.
  • High availability enhancements: With support for redundant back-end ClearPath applications in load-balanced or active/standby configurations, you’ll be able to distribute incoming client requests on a round-robin basis or direct them to an available application path in the event of a network or server failure.
  • Message filters: With the new message filters feature added to ePortal Orchestration, you’ll be able to specify custom C# message handlers that help you filter and act on any messages that are received or sent to your applications.
  • Alert and event forwarding: In ePortal 7.1, you now have the ability to forward alerts and events based on their category and criticality to Unisys Operations Sentinel, the ClearPath MCP and ClearPath OS 2200 Consoles and host logs, or the Windows event log in Agile Business Suite (AB Suite®) on Microsoft Windows® environments.
  • DevOps and automation: With the help of ePortal 7.1, you’ll be able to enhance your DevOps maturity by using new web services and command-line tools that automate the application build and deployment processes, as well as every step in between.
  • ClearPath Software Series support: Both ClearPath ePortal Business and ePortal Enterprise are now qualified for use with all ClearPath Software Series systems and configurations, making it possible for your ePortal applications to benefit from the performance, cost efficiencies, and flexibility the Software Series has to offer.
