Sweet Sixteen: Operations Sentinel 16.0 Has Arrived

Operations Sentinel 16.0 is now available!

In the latest release of our end-to-end data center management tool, you’ll receive new updates and enhancements that help you automate, consolidate, access, monitor, and manage heterogeneous systems and applications through a single point of operation. Plus, these new capabilities can help you facilitate anytime, anywhere remote operations, anticipate and address abnormal conditions, and reduce the time and budget you dedicate to operations and support activities.

All of this is made possible by the key new features we’ve built into Operations Sentinel 16.0:

  • SAIL-based ClearPath Forward Dorado configurator: With the help of this new tool, you’ll be able to configure ClearPath Forward™ Dorado 4300, 6300, and 8300 systems using a single, intuitive, graphical, SAIL-based application that helps to reduce setup time and operational errors.
  • ClearPath Forward ePortal monitoring: A new managed class and resource monitor policy give you the flexibility to monitor ClearPath Forward ePortal systems from the same pane of glass you’re currently using to control your other ClearPath Forward components.
  • Backup/restore auto synchronization: You can now periodically back up your Operations Sentinel configuration to the location of your choice, then easily restore it during a disaster recovery scenario. Plus, this feature gives you the flexibility to automatically synchronize configuration data between primary and secondary Operations Sentinel servers, minimizing the burden associated with manually recreating configurations on the secondary server.
  • Provisioning alerts via SNMP traps: With the help of this feature, you have the option to detect an alert, construct an SNMP message based on the alert, and send it out via an SNMP trap. This way, you’ll be better equipped to detect a message pattern change in your databases, making it easier to move from one ClearPath® level to the next by reducing the effort needed to identify and change AMS databases.
  • Alert Policy import/export: Built to function as a complement to the import/export functionality that exists in Operations Sentinel today, this new feature enables you to import and export the Alert Policies configuration, giving you additional ways of backing up the critical data related to this configuration.
